Aylsham welcomes walkers… We have lots of footpaths and trails to offer!
Aylsham is at the heart of two long-distance paths and several circular walks.
Marriott’s Way is a 26 mile footpath, bridleway and cycle route, which follows the routes of two disused railway lines, and runs between the historic market town of Aylsham and the medieval city of Norwich.
Linking the north Norfolk coast at Cromer to the east Norfolk coast at Great Yarmouth, the 61 mile Weavers’ Way passes through a diverse landscape of woodland, mixed farmland, historic country estates, disused railway lines, riverside walks and the famous Norfolk Broads.
A walk along The Norfolk Coast Path National Trail is the perfect way to lose yourself in this magic of the Norfolk Coast. Peddars Way has a different character altogether. Rich in history and steeped in ancient legend, the trail traverses the very best landscapes Norfolk has to offer.
Linking with the Marriott’s Way at Aylsham is the Bure Valley Path, a nine mile footpath and cycle path running through to Hoveton and Wroxham. The Bure Valley Footpath runs along the valley of the River Bure to Wroxham, alongside the the narrow gauge Bure Valley Railway.
